Doundrins Coffee Liqueur is a perfectly balanced, coffee-based spirit, that is made with a custom coffee blend we created with local roaster, Barriques. Each batch is made with fresh cold brew we make at the distillery. This spirit is very coffee forward and only sweetened slightly for balance. The coffee profile is very fruity with a full-bodied, chocolate finish. The flavor changes depending on how it’s served (hot vs. cold) – hot = chocolate, cold = fruity. You can use it as the main spirit in a cocktail by simply adding it to hot chocolate. The Coffee Liqueur can also be paired with another one of our other spirits or ones you may have in your liquor cabinet at home. It adds a strong coffee flavor with only a touch of sweetness. HOW we make our Pumpkin Brandy

Doundrins Distilling Coffee Liqueur starts off with a custom blend and roast of coffee beans from local Madison, WI roaster Barriques. The coffee is then cold-brewed and added to a neutral spirit, sweetened with a touch of honey, and flavored with a hint of vanilla for a treat that is sure to make your next White Russian or Espresso Martini better than it has ever been. This spirit is lightly sweet with no artificial sweeteners and no added flavors or colors.

Our Coffee Roaster

Barriques was opened in 1998. The short version of why they opened their wine store at 1831 Monroe St is that they were convinced there was a better way sell and share wine with people than existed in Madison at the time. This interest was born from experiences they had in wine shops in other cities and, in Finn’s case, during the long hours of selling wine in the many restaurants he had worked at.

They entered the coffee business in 2003. It was fate that led to a business relationship with another Madison cafe. All their trips to the coffee store three doors down from their first location told them that: they really did love coffee, so did all of their wine drinking customers, and that we could do this better than what they were seeing around them.
